I have a pair of the highly regarded NOS
Tungsram E80CC tubes which are in absolutely pristine shape.
These are labeled as Siemens, but are Tungsram made as per the holes in the narrow sides of the boxplates and the Tungsram "tag" on the halo getter support.
Will send picture to interested parties.
I bought from dealer a few weeks ago and they tested :
3,400 / 3,400 & 3,350 / 3,350 mmhos
HICKOK MEASUREMENTS FOR NEW are 2,500 / 2,500.These are in beautiful condition with perfect lettering. You will not be disappointed.
I used them only three days as part of a large tube comparison in my Audio Mirror PP1 preamp this month (see other ads).
They are dead quiet and have maybe the most extended, powerful, and cleanest bass I have heard in my setup.
They are used as replacements for 12AU7 or 12AT7 9 pin signal tubes as their gain is in between both.
Please check with your manufacturer if they are compatible with your preamp or tube gear as they draw a different current level than other small 12A*7 tubes. In almost all cases they are fine.
They are also taller than the standard 12AU7 (about 1.75 times taller).
A little history on these tubes.
There are essentially only three productions of these tubes:
1) The Phillips "pinched waist" which is quite rare and expensive. Heerleen made.
2) The Phillips standard Heerleen version (can be labeled anything)
3) The Tungsram version which is signified by the extra holes and Tungsram tag (can be labeled anything).
That is basically it. Nobody else made these tubes. The Phillips standard version are considered quite good and very rich sounding.
The Tungsrams are noted for being clearer and more detailed and open than the Phillips, but still smooth.
The Phillips pinched waist version is considered to be slightly better than both of these.
Do a search here or on Audio Asylum and you will see that many find this Tungsram tube as a beautiful sounding 10,000 hour supertube
replacement for the 12AU7 signal tube. Apparently these are extraordinary in MiniMax preamps and certain Cary CD players.
I am asking $75 shipped to Con USA for the pair. These often go for $100 or more for pair in this excellent NOS condition.
It is slightly less than what I paid new.
PAYPAL preferred or will accept a Money Order.
I will also consider interesting trades for similar very nice NOS 12AU7/ecc82, 12at7/ecc81, or maybe 12ax7/ecc83/5751 tubes only with established AC members with perfect feedback on Audiogon or Ebay.
Thanks for looking.
