Interested in how it's working out. Model and price info appreciated. I would like to use one up to 25 feet from iMod.
Thanks, Don

Almost all the Ipod accessories that i know of which allow for remote control must be plugged into the headphone jack on top & have the bottom line-out in operation...    the line-out sends the music, the headphone jack allows for the RF remote.

it'd be great if someone made one just for us special Imod folks though   aa

I'm using one from Logic3. Works great and doesn't use IR, so it even works when I have my iMod in my pocket or in a bag!

See http://www.logic3.co.uk/ for pricing. I'm in .nl so I'm sure pricing is different for me.

I don't think that will work as it's using the dock. The iMod kills the line-out from the dock.

I use this one: http://www.spectravideo.com/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=477&category_id=

Found it thanks, (it wouldn't show up from direct link). Could be the answer, need a usa distributer, I'll look around (maybe it's too logical to have here, like the metric system...).

Hi Guys,

I am not currently using a remote, but the one linked to above should work if it is being used with a 4G iMod.  The reason is because with the 4G iMod, I route the modded line-out to the 1/8" stereo jack on the top.  The bottom dock connector of that remote station will be used for charging and remote data.

For the new 5G iMod, this same type of remote dock *should* also work, but you'll need to plug the ALO iMod Dock cable to the dock output of this remote dock.  Of course, adding this in the signal path may cause degradation.  I never tried these things..

Also, for best results, see if you can power the remote dock from battery because that is always going to be powering/charging the iPod when it is in use.  For best results/critical listening, don't listen to the iMod with any power supply attached... they all add noise.  Sometimes, those cheap SMPS chargers adds noise that can be pretty annoying (buzzing/high pitched sound) :duh:

Best regards,

Vinnie
