You could follow the lead of those classically trained Italian speaker builders, and go with something Latin....

Deliriant....delirious
Fortius.....strong
Inflore.....blooming
Imago......image
Infieri......becoming

Since discovering for myself several years ago, the fun and value of DIY speaker building, I really thought I would never buy a commercially made speaker again.  Then I listened to these new MTM quarter-wave speakers.  After reading about Odysseus and the Sirens on this thread, I have to admit I feel a lot like Odysseus tied to the mast, tempted by the Sirens.

Although I really wonder if giving any acoustic product the name Siren is a good idea, with woofers made by Seas, and a tweeter by Hiquphon, how about... Hi Seas Siren?

I think "Mojito" would be a cool name.

The designer behind the Dali Megaline (G.Fredriksen.. partly) also has a speaker
called Aural [sounds like Au-RAA'L](however, this is not the brand name, hence no blocking fact)... just remembered. (Dude that is a good speaker!!!, and so back to topic...)
I don't believe there is a speaker firm called Rendition.
Cantus P.F  - (Perfect Rendition), Cantus Spectator.

Hm...
Here is a huge name database: http://www.baby-names-and-stuff.com/baby-names/alpha.asp?letter=A

Cantus Arcelia ( Means:  "I" speak/Sing (the song singing..is of "the" Treasure), part Latin, part Spanish..)
Uhm.... Could be... (Song of the treasure is the basis for the song singing... "now") / The treasure'd song..
Uh, you get it...

Arcelia means "Dearest, most treasured"..

Mono aural... a term..
Be Aural, a statement, a command! ..
Arcalia Aural-B.

"Siren" makes me wince.  Brings up thoughts of air raid or tornado warning, not a pretty sound.  Bad choice I think.

Just my thoughts.

Hey!

This is an interesting thread. :D But after 11 pages still can't pick a name?  :o

Anyway, I will chip in. How about.... "Take Five"

Well, reading the description I see there are two 5" drivers  on each speaker and I was just listening to Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" So, that's kind of came up in my mind. :D

If you chose this name will I get the speaker as a prize?

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Wow! Over 100 replies.  And some very good ideas.

I suppose it is about time to review them all and make a selection.

There were some very good ideas right from the start.  As I recall, the very first one was "SongTowers."  I liked quite a few after that as well.  I also liked Marbles idea of using a numbering system (2.1) to indicate the number of drivers.

Looking through all the posts, what are your favorites?

Well, I sheepishly admit to not having read ALL the suggestions.  But mine is Definity (or DM Definity).  Verity would be good and tie in, but...it's mighty close to you-know-what.   :)

If we look for a match with Veracity, we might try Fidelity. This is such a common term that it just might have been overlooked (although I somehow doubt it).

Alternatively, the Salk Silk has a smooth, alliterative sound to it.

Actually I quite like Doris, not least because I have an aunt of that name. Unfortunately she has nothing whatsoever in common with this speaker. Since the speaker is long and tall, perhaps Sally would be more appropriate...

Those are some interesting lyrics.

I thought that I would make another suggestion.

Since the designer considers the  bass response exceptional for this speaker, why not name them for an exceptional bass player like Jaco as in Pastorious. Or...

Clever idea--but I think those little green guys are also short, which this puppy isn't.  I still like the name, though.
