In wall speakers?
« on: 9 May 2007, 04:24 am »
Doing some remodeling in my property would like to add in wall speakers in a few areas and also out on the deck, any good recommendations on in wall speakers?    I know they are not considered to be "audiophile" but for general music around the house when guess are over should work fine instead of listening to my dedicated 2 channel stereo.  Lastly, any good decent wires to connect them?  I am looking at a some options in regards to an audio receiver, Onkyo, Denon wish I could use my tube stereo setup but I dont really know if I could

ty lashbrook at tyler acoustics made me a custom set of his linbrook speakers that sit partially in-wall, and protrude out about 2inches from the wall. the sound is terrific and imo they look great. oh, and he's a terrific guy to deal with. i think he's got pictures on hand of my setup (i deleted mine), and i believe he's come up with some additional options in the last year.

Hey Robert,

Check out ACI speakers.   Mike Dzurko, the owner, has a circle here at AC.    My dad bought a pair of their 8" co-axials that have a chamber...meaning the woofer has a box.

$150 a pair & they simply destroy the really expensive Boston Acoustics that my folks have in another room.  Both are powered by a Onkyo HT receiver, nuthin fancy...but the ACI sound almost too good for the $.

i highly recomend ACI's in-walls for killer background fill.

I'll call you after work today, around 5:30 or so????    i need to grab the Element cable this evening if possible.

Hey Matt, I was considering wiring my house complete for the future and possibly connecting some decent inwall speakers to a few rooms and deck nothing to do critical listening but just enjoy basic music.  For guess that come over and not "audiophiles" such as yourself lol.  i came across this supplier

Check out the prices from outdoor speaker depot Robert...   $50 - $75 per speaker and those are complete crap.

Going with a decent spkr mfgr won't cost you more...   but it all costs something!!

the Element Ipod cable is bad-ass.  I hooked it up to my car & for the 1st 2 minutes it sucked...like all new cables.   By the time I hit Ashland my Accord sounded like it sprouted 12" subwoofers.

the drive back to StL this weekend is gonna be fun.    aa
