Hi all,
With limited budget, which upgrade path is better?
1. Ref 9 --> Ref 9SE
2. Ref 9 --> Ref 9V2

I am not speaking from personal experience, but from reports from those who have heard both "path # 2" seems to be preferred.

But that also leaves room for a two stage upgrade:

Stage One = Ref 9 > Ref 9 V2

Stage Two = Ref 9 V2 > Ref 9 V2 SE

Hi Eosdigic,

If memory serves me correct, Jason of NuForce stated that the Ref 9 V2 actually exceeded the performance of the Ref 9SE.  Accordingly, it would seem like option #2 is the most cost effective in the long run.

Cheers,
Garry

PS - You Nuforce owners sure are lucky :cuss: b@#%stards :cuss: - great products, great customer service, short turn around time, etc., etc.

Yes, we recommend Ref 9 -> Ref 9 V2.
The cost of going from Ref 9 -> Ref 9 V2 -> Ref 9 V2 SE  is the same as Ref 9 -> Ref 9 V2 SE.

For new customers, unless you need more than 200W of power, we would recommend Ref 8.5 V2.  Similarly, Ref 8.5 V2 and be upgraded gradually to Ref 9 V2 SE.

Or you can skip one generation and wait for V3 (absolutely no idea when that is available as R&D won't start until this summer).
