Well the new amps finally made it home. It wasn't easy to load and unload them, but it's all behind me now. I couldn't be more happy with them. They have dynamics out the wazoo. In fact the dynamics are just flat out unbelievable. The way these amps handled the LS-6's created a realism that exceeds anything I have heard. I can't wait to get the new LS-9's together now.

Once when I thought they were really pounding I checked the bias meters and found that they were still setting on 100 watts. They were still in class A operation. I can't image what kind of output levels are possible if driven to near the maximum output. I may never know.

I found myself listening louder than I thought. It was so clean it just moved me to push the volumes a little more. These are going to be a lot of fun.

I tried taking a few new pics but these are really tough to photograph.

That little TV in the background that you can just see the bottom of is a 61" Sony big screen.

I saw and heard these yesterday, albeit on some smaller speakers at Gary's.....really incredible work and really sweet sounding.....now moving them is another thing...my achin back

I just finished listening to my Rush, Moving Pictures, album pretty much all the way through. What a killer good album that was. These amps drive the LS-6's like no bodies business. It was like being at a concert. My dual 12" subs could hardly keep up. This is too much fun. I will have to be careful with this combo that I don't hurt my ears.

Oh yea, the glow of all those tubes looks killer in the dark.

Damn Danny, those are beauties. Nice job Gary. Maybe not not enough power though so I think you should set up another pair for bi-amping

How about a "night shot" with the glowing tubes.

So Danny, are you guys going to polish them up and haul them to RMAF 2007 in an armored car? Seems like a lot of tonnage, but they would certainly provide quiet room heating if the temperature dips too low

how many watts do those things suck up per hour? And do you think that after say 4 or 5 tubes things start to get redundant. I see these preamps/amps with 15 tubes in them... why so many.. really?

You should take a picture of these amps next to your 50 watt Dodd mono blocs for a better scale comparison.

If you folks think that these amps look great, you ought to hear the way they sound. Absolutely incredible! I have in all honesty never heard a tube amp have such bass control and such power. Danny's LS-6s had the most amazing dynamics that I have ever heard. Period. This amp puts all of the solid state amps that I have heard, with the possible exception of the Bryston 14B SST to shame for insanely *HUGE* sound. I called Gary a short time ago to tell him how great they really sounded. By the way, standing between the two mono-blocks didn't give me anything more than a light sunburn

Actually, the heat wasn't that bad, but you might have to turn the air conditioner down a few degrees Fahrenheit.

Congratulations to Gary...the Man with the Plan.
