NOS pair of Mazda 12AU7's
« on: 2 May 2007, 05:52 am »
These two were the last tubes that I hadn't gotten around to using in my Rogue Model 66 pre before I sold it.

Labeled "MAZDA 12AU7A ECC82 V-1".

Pictures on request...make me an offer on these. Thanks!

Can you send pictures to me? Also looking for any other identifying marks as to the vintage. Do you have the boxes? I'm looking for 59'-61'

Cheers

Jim,
Please post a price (per our Guide) as there are some people interested but don't want to make a low ball offer.
Thanks,

Let's say...$20 for the pair.

I'll take some hi-res pictures to hopefully answer those questions.

Jim,

I'm sending you yet another message.

Thanks,
Paul

EDIT - Jim, if you go to the top of the page, right below the large 'AudioCircle' there are 11 choices starting with 'HOME', the 8th will be 'MY MESSAGES' with a parentheses indicating the number of messages waiting. The number will be at least 2. Please click on MY MESSAGES'

Jim - at this point I assume you have received your misrepresented as NOS, used tubes back.
A bit of advice -

1. NOS tubes generally have uniformly tarnished pins. If a tube's pins are tarnished with untarnished rings in the middle, it is an indication of long term use. Access to a tester verified their used status under asymmetrical use with one section on the verge of failure and the other, not that far behind.

2. If someone asks specifically to send via UPS or USPS as DHL and FedEx will leave them outside, even if a signature is requested, don't send them via FedEx anyway.

3. Learn the difference between fault and responsibility. Even if you were unaware that the tubes were not NOS, it is still your responsibility, and an adult should show some level of contrition and apologize, not respond with

Have we re instituted public flogging?

The guy may have made an error in the identification of his tubes and the shipment process, but this may be better left to a private exchange.

...., but this may be better left to a private exchange.

Absolutely not! Given a failure to accept responsibility (not fault, for which I'll give the benefit of doubt), it is my responsibility to let others know what they should expect. That pissant 'Sorry this didn't work out' with a neutral smiley, tells me I wasn't dealing with a responsible adult. The fact that they arrived without boxes, simply wrapped in bubble wrap is simply further confirmation that I was sold used tubes.

I've bought tubes from others here, Marvdal, and gotten exactly what was represented. The only thing I regret is that in addition to apprising the community of what to expect from JimJ, I should have posted on Marvdal's thread to tell others that he is a stand-up guy.

That wasn't a flogging; its called Trading Post feedback.
