Anyone moved from separates to an integrated...
« on: 29 Apr 2007, 10:05 pm »
...and been happy?  I have decided to scale down and recently replaced my large floorstanders with a mini monitor/sub combo and am really happy with the sound. I'm now no longer needing the two amps I was using to passive biamp the floorstanders and am thinking of going with an integrated amp. Something like the Creek Destiny or Valve audio has a hybrid that looks interesting, or even the new Onkyo A-9555 digital integrated not to mention the gazillion tube integrateds out there to choose from.
So if anyone has done this please let me know what you got and if you were happy with the results.

Yes-Went from various ss amp/tube pre combos including a McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe/Bat VK-3i setup to an Audiomat Arpgege (nice) to my current amp an Antique Sound Lab AQ-1001DT tube integrated. Great amp especially at the prices they (rarely) go for used and with upgraded tubes I have no desire any more to peruse the Audiogon classifieds for an amp which is rare for me although I'd really like to hear Frank's new AVA integrated 8)

I moved from a Conrad Johson PV12A and VTL MB 125 monoblocks to a Naim Nait 5i and am completely content.  In fact, I'm much happier with the integrated FWIW.
