The 200 hr mark has arrived, I think.
« on: 28 Apr 2007, 09:19 pm »
Greetings and salutations all!
I start this off in good spirits as I've had an epiphany of sorts  :banana piano:.
The fabled 200 hr mark. Or thereabouts.
Having thought the 100 mark was a great achivement, I just went about
my business, listening, listening, listening.
Then, right before my battery died :bomb:, announcing itself in the most
frightful of manners, I heard it :singing:.
There I sat, in stark disbelief, after putting on Norah's 'Feels Like Home',
and going through 'Toes' that I heard Dolly Parton, singing ever so softly
and matching Norah in pitch and tone, through a lot of the song. Now I've heard
this TONS of times and know that there is a lot of backup singing in this CD but
I NEVER heard this before.
Not to this extent.
Its like one went from the recording studio, and somehow passed through
that big pane of glass and sat right there, with the players.
Now, whenever Norah sings, my ears tickle somewhat and whats left of my hair feels
as if its being blown back, ever so softly  aa.
With the new batteries in place (don't forget to turn if off and let it idle for
two days! ), I replayed it and have now gone through several CDs,
non stop. The cycle begins again.
Will it ever stop?
Do I want it to?
NAAAAA.
Everything has more of an organic quality, even the inert stuff.
On 'Corinne Bailey Rae's' self titled CD, you can hear (sense) her grab the neck
of her guitar a bit too tightly, on 'Like a Star', when she pauses.
I just love this ability to hear so deep into a recording :inlove:.
Its intoxicating to the point that I'm serioulsy thinking of a 12 step program,
NOT .
All kidding aside, there is one serious caveat here. Should you have any doubts,
WAIT until you've passed this 200 hr mark before you pass on this amp  :nono:.
Anything less would be criminal and you should be locked up before you do
anyone harm, as your patience and judgement are in obviously in short supply.
Change your source, your speakers, whatever, if you're in that big of a hurry,
but, for God's or any deities sake, wait.
Just wait or you'll be sorry  :bawl:.

Hi Nonoise,

Wow, thanks for your great post!  :thumb:

As much as I really love how you (and ALL my Sig 30 customers) post your very positive experiences here, which is MUCH appreciated, there is nothing that I want more than for you guys to actually forget about the Signature 30 and the rest of your equipment and then simply focus on getting pulled into the music.... hearing deep into the music and finding it intoxicating, as you ,mentioned.  Now THAT is what THIS is all about, and that makes me feel happy when I hear about it!  :singing: :singing: :singing:

Thanks again for your post,

Vinnie
