In order to do my part to help fight inflation, I'm lowering prices on almost everything. Most significantly, the RIPPER and FRYKLEANER GOLD will drop $100 down to $399 each. Assembled. The PICCOLO will start out at just $299.
Sadly, the CHIME was underpriced, so it went up a little to $1799. The CORNET MC also went up to $999, but that includes yet more upgrades, better capacitors (I may as well use up what I have leftover from TRUMPET stock), damping, and now your choice of chassis color. Seems nobody likes the blue. So I will paint the chassis! I don't know why I didn't think of this before, as the base coat is already baked on, so there is no chance of peeling or chipping since it also makes a great primer. Only issue is that the painted version will have no silkscreen. I suppose I should call this version the "Mk IV" or something. Here's a list of upgrades from the original CORNET:
- Constant current sinks
- 370BX power transformer (240Vac operation)
- AC voltage select board
- Capacitors
- PICCOLO head amp
- Chassis damping
- Chassis color
And it is still under a grand. What other tube phonostage gives you this kind of performance and features?
- Selectable gain (44, 56, 64, 70dB)
- Selectable cartridge loading (not DIP switches!)
