These are awesome sounding tubes, a real sleeper I think.  I'd purchase them if I didn't already have a small stash of these  :green:

How would you describe the sound of these?

I'm assuming these are the black plate, bent square getter, 1950's sylvania 12au7.  They are pretty balanced from top to bottom.  I'd describe the sound as organic and intimate.  Someone in another forum described them as "the most human sounding 12au7 period." and I agree they just sound "real" compared to others I've tried.

I learned about these tubes from a review on 6moons where the reviewer compares different 12au7's on a MiniMax preamp.  He described their sound pretty well in the review.  The server for 6moons seems to be down right now, so I can't provide a link.

Thanks for the interest guys, but they're already sold.  They're greyplates but look identical to the blacks aside from plate color (I have both).  They sound somewhat similar, with the blackplates being more warm and organic while the greys are a tad faster and maybe just a bit more precise.  I prefer blackplates for what it's worth, but the greys are really no slouches either.
