Hi, I am the poster on the Salk owners forum who tried to elicit some feedback from Veracity HT3 owners ( thank you Jim for posting to this forum ). It appears none have heard the Nu Force except one owner who tried many different amps with the HT3's, including early Ref 9's, posting a comparison with the DNA 500 back in Sept. 2005. He didn't particularly take to the Nu Force, at the same time, no real attempt was made to 'tweak' them into his system where the DNA 500 resided, (using different IC's, PC's, speaker cables etc.) which I have found the Nu Force is particularly sensitive to. I personally feel this is what polarises the responses to Nu Force, more so than most other amps.
In any case, the Salk HT3's are described as very neutral and accurate speakers which could be regarded as being very unforgiving of poorly recorded material. In other words, they are open windows to the music and in a reference class. I already have the Ref 9.02's and am considering the 9.02SE's to bi-amp the Salks, or just replace the 9.02's. The 9.02 SE's are also very neutral, and reference class. Does a very neutral amp going with very neutral speakers sound like it might be a bit on the dry side ? Has anyone paired the 9SE's with such speakers who might be able to comment. The Salk owners seem to be gravitating to tube based amps for preferred synergy, which add something of their own. I do have a tube based pre-amp ( Modwright SWL 9.0SE, tube rectified version ) which is fairly neutrally voiced, which however adds a bit of 'body' to the sound. The Salks use SEAS mid-range drivers, similar to Tyler Accoustics. I read a post here where the Nu Force 9SE's paired well with the Tyler Woodmere 2's, however I am not sure if their voicing is as neutral as the Salks. Anyone out there who has experimented with the SE's with such speakers ? Or is this generally impossible to predict ( neutral with neutral 'synergy' ) without trying it ?
