SOLD! Have a nice Cornet2 that I bought off a fellow ACer a few months ago who built it that I am selling for what I have into it. The case is silver without the Hagerman decals and is in great shape. Caps are Auricaps, RCA jacks are Cardas and the tubes I installed are a nice 1964 Sylvania long grayplate 12AX7, 1959 RCA clear top 12AU7s and a NOS Sylvania 5Y3GT. All the tubes have low hours on them as I travel all the time. There are a few caveats regarding this pre. If you buy it you will need to use quality shielded ICs and a good shielded PC as it seems to be very sensitive to hum when using crappy cables. Kimber PBJs will not work .Also, there is a very low hum at zero volume that I haven't tried to get rid of because I don't have the time nor does it bother me that much and does not get louder when you turn the volume up. PLUS the mono switch isn't hooked up. So there ya have it. Anyone contemplating building one might want mine as I have been told that you can't build them for less than @400.00 not including the cap, RCA and tube upgrades on mine and the last one I saw for sale on Audiogon went for $550.00. Would like $350.00 insured shipping included for this pre as that's what I have into it, but make me a reasonable offer so I don't have to deal with some of the Audiogon yahoos and it's yours. I'll try and take photos of it but it looks pretty much like every one I've seen except the case is silver. PM me if interested or with any questions and it will be on Audiogon in a few days if there is no interest here. 8) There is a ton of info on Jims site on ridding the Cornet2 of the last little bit of hum so you DIYrs should be able to figure that one out....It's a great pre, I just have too many tubes in my rig now (not that that's a bad thing...)

Got the cornet2 in great shape - thanks for fast shipping!

So far no issue with hum in either of the systems I hooked it to (not main 2 ch system)....

My other Cornet2 (in main system) had a ground loop type issue until I plugged it into the wall directly vs. the DODD balanced PS that everything else was plugged into.

Haven't tried the new one in my main system yet..

Awesome deal - highly recommended phono pre & seller!
