Bryston CD Drive

Hello James,

As I already have the BP26 preamp and an external DAC I would be interested in the Bryston CD drive with no internal DAC or power supply. Could you tell us what would be the retail price for this unit and how many months until they're released?

It looks nice...

Hi FM,

We are rethinking the power supply issue. We have found the CD player performs better if we use 2 independent power supplies - one for the Digital section in the CD player and one for the Analog section in the CD player - using the MPS-2 would not allow that.

The separate DAC we are working on now and a separate Drive we will look at in the fall. Not sure on the pricing yet.

I asked because some time ago I looked at your press release in which you described the models that will be available. If the cd player will be 2500 US$, I guess the transport with just the digital outputs will go for something like 1500-2000 US$...

Yes originally we felt we could offer a variety of options but when we looked at the performance issues we realized it was better to offer an integrated unit.

But i love your products (and i certainly will with your CDP) !

PS : If i'm a bit "hard" at the time it is just because i'm trying to push you to get that thing done with the HDMI stuff before i might (and some other people too) think of changing pre (i would be so sad to have to do that !!!).
You know, we use what we've got...

The complete CD Player starts getting shipped next month but the first 2 months production is presold. Retail in the US will be $$2295.

The CD Player is finished and we start shipping next week. The first 3 months production is pre-sold.
