So, are you saying the speakers are a bad idea?  They seem like an interesting idea to me (though I'm not so sure about channel separation -- given that there is none -- but then I'm not the type of person to buy this).  Or are you saying that more HT vendors should be carrying these speakers?

Might be interesting to hear, it reminds me of the time I stuck my Norh drums together, wired one out of phase and fed it a mono signal.  You get that nifty phasey, out-of-body sound which totally shifts like mad as you move your head.  I suspect this works with a similar principle, just more advanced.  I dunno why people have a love affair with the frequency response of a clock radio JUST AS LONG AS I CAN'T SEE IT, though!  Yes, it would be a terrible crime if beautifully veneered wood speakers were to intrude on those precious knick knacks that you just can't take your eyes off of!   I mean, most speakers are so SOOOO hideous looking aren't they?

And do you really need a tweeter when your woofer cone and tweeter cone are almost the same size???

This has to be a joke!  HT is all about sound enveloping the room from the front center, both sides and the rear.  How the heck would you be able to accomplish a great Movie Experience with one speaker?  No Thanks!!

I couldn't care less about HT (2 ch is all I need for music ), but I have thought about doing something similar. I have 4 Fostex FE107Es, I am tempted sometimes to buy another one and put them all in a long box on top of my TV hooked up to a cheap HT receiver.

To me this is just not the right approach for an audiophile, the audience they claim to be targeting. I suspect they are targeting those who put their display 5 feet off the ground and like to bake their speakers, and eliminate as many of those pesky speakers as they can

I know several people who are very happy with their Yamaha YSP single speakers, with subs, mounted as seen in that pic.

Astute of Paradigm to get in on the action - Polk is too.

I would consider it for my main floor HT - total WAF, and actually does not sound like crap in a room with symetrical walls.

Not going to replace my 2 channel gear of course, but for HT as a secondary concern to me, this type of solution absolutely has attraction.

Zipping up my flame suit now!

Well, it probably wouldn't please a HT 'purist', but it's a solution for many, I'm sure. My wife and I have talked about something similar ourselves, actually. HT is not a priority at our house....if I can hear the dialog, I'm fine. But that's just me.

This IS the HT area of the Circles, so I can see why it is ridiculed here... but I have heard it, and the Yamaha does a credible job on reproducing surround in a rectangular room.  WAF is off the chart, and for parking on the fireplace, well it is just a natural.

NOT for folks who truly enjoy the 6.1 or 7.1 experience, but for the masses, I appreciate that this is decent marketing.

Put some french polished wood, whizzers, and cryo something silver plated and then raise the price.
That'll get it more attention.

I wouldn't denigrate anything from Paradigm until well after I heard it...they've just produced too many good speakers at exceedingly fair prices over the years to doubt them before hearing or seeing them.

The 'market' will surely endorse or repudiate them in short order.

Like WEEZ, I'm no video enthusiast, but if they sound decent and fit the decor with a minimal of fuss, they may well do allright by many (myself,included)
