Thanks for looking

Big Red Machine

Does it have remote volume by any chance?

What does it sound like? (other units you would compare it to)

Sorry, no remote, a true purist design .  I have had the Odyssey Tempest Extreme, Classe preamps, Rogue 66, and heard lots more, both solid state and tubes.  I would have to say that this piece is very open and detailed.  It's definitely tranparent as the Tempest and if using the balanced in out, you'll even get more air and openness.  the soundstaging is exact as well as imaging.  It's not as forward (in your face as some other SS pres, but also, doesn't have the tubie warmth that most tube pres have either.  This was used as a second system, but I am deciding to down size and use my integrated instead of the Shengya and mono blocks.
Thanks for looking!
