Standalone DAC ?

James,

Is there any potential for the DAC in the BP-25 and B60 becoming a standalone box ?

James, curious...

1. Will it be the same DAC that is currently in place or are you going to change it in terms of design?

2. Are you considering a multi-channel application?

Hi Ron,

It will be the same DACs as in the new BP25DA and we are looking at 2-8 channels - geared more to the Pro Studio business.

James,

If you say multi channel I assume you mean a single chassis hosting DACs for multiple decoded PCM streams?

This comes back to my question about djittering. Since your DAC uses an asynchronous sample rate converter to achieve this, could the same technology be applied to a future generation of the SP1.7 or does this introduce to much lip sync problems?

Cheers

James,

I am new here and this would be my first post...so I apologize as I am sure this has been already addressed, but I have tried to read as many past posts as I could before asking, but just couldnt find the answer to this question....How will we know when a software update will be available for the BDA-1? And are any in the chute for the near future....Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

If we are offering a new software upgrade it would be on our website under "Whats New"

Thanks James,
One more thing I know a lot has been discussed here and just about every other forum in the world but as it pertains to the BDA-1 and how it reclocks the incoming data with such remarkably low jitter is it relatively safe to say that: assuming with digital cable coax that if the cable maintains true 75 ohm tip to tip or 110 ohm for AES/EBU that the BDA-1 is relatively insensitive to the cable it is used with?
