I've been pricing out the parts list with Digi-Key and apparently they have 0 of the HS224 heat sinks available and in fact you have to buy them in lots of 1,000  . You know I'm having a hard enough time convincing the "trouble and strife" that I'm saving money by building my own audio equipment but getting 1,000 heat sinks for the use of 8 of them is a really tough sell.

Also, from what I have seen of the Cornet2's internals 6 of those heat sinks are used for what I'm guessing is to shield the I/Os from the transformer's wiring. Am I correct here?

Is there another supplier of these heat sinks? Has anyone fashioned their own heat sinks for the Cornet2?

Mouser has them in stock.  Go to mouser.com and just search on Aavid's part number
(which you can get from Digikey).  But, to save you time

Aavid: 592502B03400
Digikey: HS224
Mouser: 532-592502B34

And, to make your Mouser trip worthwhile, consider

161-4221-E

which is the gold plated version of the dual RCA jacks (CP-1435-ND)
which Digikey only carries in nickel plate.  (Different manufacturers
but otherwise compatible as regards their pinout and PCB footprint.)

In part, that tip was to help with SAF (spousal acceptance factor).

  Yeah, it'll cost more owing to the added shipping cost BUT this system
  will be a real "keeper" so *we* won't want the RCA jacks to be
  oxidizing 10 years down the road.   Unless, of course, you want to
  spring for silver plated since after all silver has lower resistance than
  gold and when *we* polish the jacks we can polish the rest of the
  family silver too

RoHS strikes again.  The digikey search for the original HS224 came up no stock.  So I clicked on the "find substitutes" link and it gave me HS372.  Same dimensions.  Only difference is the amount of lead content.  Yikes, now I have to update how many manuals again?

Yes, several of the heat sinks are set up as electric field shields.  Turns out they're not really necessary, but the concept was nice.  If your ac line is really noisy, then they might help.

The pre-loaded parts list give the switch as Digikey # 360-1159. That number is no longer stocked bu the RoHS compliant replacement part number is 360-1791-ND.

Has the LED Bezel/lens been out of stock forever also? I chose not to use it as the "naked" LED looks fine to me anyway but the part number L30032-ND has been OOS for three months...at least.

The worst part is that the lens is BIG.  I've already drilled my chassises (chassi?) and can't find anything near that size at any of the common parts sites.

If the manuals have to be updated anyway it might be time to look at a smaller dome so it can be subed when out of stock.

I have two brand new lenses and two lightly used lenses.  They're free
to anyone for the asking, although I would prefer that they go to someone
looking at already drilled holes.  I already pm'd samplesj but he needs > 4.
