DONT DO IT! i was selling an infinithy ssw-212 sub a month ago on audiogon and i got the same exact email. He wants to pay immediately and pick it up on the same day. Also, the email was in caps and bold print, with font size of at least 32. I knew it was a scam, so i gave them my cell number. 20mins later, i got a phone call, and it was from a hotline that deaf people use to communicate. It was pretty freaky, but i fooled around with him for quite a bit(asking him many many questions) til the "deafline" manager cut us off thinking we were doing an illegal trade of some sort.
Then he email me again asking me why i am creating such an hassle for him as he was willing to send me a check through some canadian money order. Well, i email him back saying, i ONLY take cash. Boom, i got another call agian, but this time, its from his "local friend" that help commicates for him because he was deaf. The guy talking me have a very very heavy accent, seems as if it was from africa (please dont take offense in this). I have alot of friends straight from africa for school , and they have a similiar accent. He called me twice, and i told him, cash or US postal money order only. He seems as though he didnt understand me, and kept asking me for my address as if it was the cop was tryign to force some secret out of me.
All i was thinking in my head at that time was, "there is no way i am giving out my address so i can endanger my parents, and my younger sister and brother. "
finally at last, i hung up on him and got another email that repeated the same exact thing. My last email to them that stopped this nonsense was asking him about any reference upon his sales record on the internet(he has abs. no reference on audiogon), and how a CIBC money order worked.
pretty freaky, and NEVER EVER give out your address, those guys are crazy.
