Bought on 3/15/07, broken in fully at this point. Not much to add to my review of this preamp that hasn't already been noted in my review of it recently:
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=39060.0I'm simply not a solid state guy any longer...I think it's mostly a large turnaround in musical listening tastes that run to classical and jazz now...where as for many years I was a head-banger. It all started about age 41 I think....
If you still enjoy solid state, need/want two outputs and either are seriously into vinyl or wanna' be on the cheap...this is possibly your preamp

Here's about 25 good alternative reviews of the preamp:
http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/apt-holman/preamplifiers/MPL_1120_1591CRX.ASPXThe owners manual, btw, is the most comprehensive tutorial on preamp behavior and instructions I have ever seen. It is a particularly amazing resource for vinyl lovers - citing total capacitance and recommended loading for dozens and dozens of turntables, tonearms and cartridges

It's a high quality scan that I bought separately from the unit (at the same time)....it is great hi-fi reading in itself.
It is very full featured: two phono inputs, tape in and out, external processing loop, stereo mode, bass, treble, high (infrasonic) filter, subsonic filter, mute, tone defeat and bass mode (changes frequency range of bass control). It is very quiet, no hum whatsoever.
Again, if you still enjoy solid state, need/want two outputs and either are seriously into vinyl or wanna' be on the cheap...this is possibly your preamp

The 'smudges' on back is just residue of the thorough cleaning I gave each of the rca jacks...with Caig DeOxIt and ProGold formulas. The excess will be wiped clean before (careful) shipment
