Loreleis Finish
« on: 10 Apr 2007, 02:27 am »
I had another conversation with Mr. Klaus tonight and if I can sell the wife I am going ahead with purchase of Loreleis.  At an upcharge Klaus offers the speakers in a laquor finish.  Currently, I am thinking I would like my speakers in the Red Cherry but not sure about the laquor finish.  Do you have the Loreleis in a laquor finish or would you recommend I stay with the standard finish?

One last comment, I hope I am half as successful in selling wifey as Klaus was in selling me.  Boy, is he ever good at trying to make me part with money!

Thanks,

Ken

Klaus is a master at extracting your cash but you certainly can't argue with the value received dollar for dollar.

I haven't seen the lacquer finish, but he spent a lot of time talking about his new cabinet maker and how pleased he is with him.  My guess is that finish would be fairly stunning and no doubt of the highest quality.

I have seen some of the wonderful studio furniture pieces that David (cabinet guy) has designed/built.  He has quite a history working with wood.  I can assure you that his lacquer finish on your speaker cabinets will look very nice.  This is not a kitchen guy that Klaus is dealing with.  If I was in the market for a pair of Klaus's Loreleis speakers and knew he was offering custom options, I would have David go the full monty.

I think I know what's harder on my wallet than Klaus! Try having daughters! If mine give me a hug I know right away it's gonna be at least a hundred bucks! And if she says "I love you", I already know to just go and get the check book.

Sorry, gotcha beat.  I DO have 2 daughters 14 and 19 y.o. that show their own horses.  One of the friend's horse's show name is "My Daddy's Jag" and they aren't kidding (read "big $$$").

Love 'em just the same.
