These don't do a lot to improve sound or video quality, except that they're useful for keeping line noise out of equipment. I've hard-wired line filters into power cords on my treadmill and refrigerator, both of which cut down on the EMI house wide. And much to my surprise, it makes my refrigerator run quieter and smoother (which prompted my wife to say sarcastically, "Oh great, now we'll never need a new refrigerator").
So strictly DIY, and kinda labor-intensive to wire up, but very useful.
