Hey!

Hmmm.... interesting. :D You know I just sent my check to Stereophile for 2 years renewal. For the price I can't see why not? I don't take them seriously... if I did I think I would only buy equipments in their Recommended Components list. For the price I think it is fun, entertaining and a good way to see what's new :D

BTW... I do like the Brit's Hi-Fi+ mag... no I don't own any Naim  But I like they way they review things and yes photos in that mag are very nice. :D Sadly, it it a bit expensive here this side of the pound  So, usually when I have time I will stop by Barns & Nobles pick up a cup of Starbucks, relax and read the Hi-Fi+ there. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

As with most everybody I really enjoy HiFi+, but at the $10 copy price here in the States it's a very occasional purchase.  Unitl Jeff came along with TONE, it had the best equipment pics, the writing style is very refreshing.

I believe that reviews are like looking at the pictures, virtual tours, and the measurement specs when looking at homes for possible purchase.  What one sees/reads may lead to a viewing, but it's only when one actually physically visits the property (liistens to the equipment) that a true judgement can be applied.

There are a plethora of German mags, mostly mainstream, one or two glossy "hi-end" versions. There are at least four in France, the most serious being La nouvelle Revue du Son. I peruse these in the local magazine store and then am glad I discovered forums where the real info. is! Occasionaly some nugget appears. I learned about T-amps in a mag. (Flying Mole) which set me off on creating a new system. Also ever since seeing a big spread about, I have lusted after the Leben products (out of Japan).

NO! but someone on this forum has them. I saw a picture in a gallery a while back. I don't think they are the ultimate tube gear by any means, but the reviews I've read say that the are designed by a real Japanese master of the art (the head honcho at the Luxman tube division back in the good old days). They are lovingly made, to last forever and must sound very fine indeed. Their site provides a very comprehensive discussion about tube rolling too. I want one!

Yes, they're quite good  but expensive.  See reviews:
