I just want to clarify where we are going with the Exodus Audio Loudspeaker lineup. In general there is some long-term concern with the supply of the Adire Audio Extremis. The Extremis has been the foundation for our first generation of loudspeaker kits and without it we wouldn't have a loudspeaker line.
As luck would have it, we have been working on a replacement transducer design for the last eight months. The new driver is the Exodus EX-6.5 and shares many of the design features of the Adire Audio Extremis including XBL^2 motor design, class-leading linear BL curve, extremely low inductance and massive output for its form factor. The Exodus EX-6.5 also offers some new design features including, higher sensitivity, improved cooling/power handling, phase plug, treated paper cone and many cosmetic improvements. The EX-6.5 will be the foundation for our new loudspeaker designs.
We also have plans for an Exodus Audio tweeter that will be utilized in the new generation Exodus Audio Loudspeaker kits. Engineering details will be released once we have final production details. Rest assured, this is not your typical tweeter. The EX-Tweet will offer many ground breaking design features much in the same way that our EX-6.5 midwoofer provides unique and compelling features.
Our goals for the costly development of our own transducers has two motives. First, working with industry engineers we where confident that we could offer some unique designs that offer true performance benefits over what we could source in off the shelf transducer designs. Second, we felt very strongly that the only way to be 100% confident in our ability to support our customers long-term was to design and source our own drivers. When drivers are sourced through a third-party your dependent upon other companies to monitor production quality, and continue to provide support. By sourcing drivers from reliable build-houses that have decades of history we are better able to control long-term supply of our products. It allows us to assure our customers of long-term support for their purchases and provides us with better control over our supply of product.
We don't have immediate concerns with our supply of Extremis & WR-125s for the current loudspeaker line. There is supply that should last well into the transition period of our new loudspeaker kits. But if you have been planning the purchase of one of the current designs I'd not delay.
