Break in Bent Audio MU step ups with FryKleaner?
« on: 17 Mar 2007, 10:28 pm »
Is there any problem hooking my Bent Audio MU step up transformers for break in with the FryKleaner? I think they are set at 1:10 gain now. Which volume setting should I use on the FryKleaner? Is there a certain signal path that I need to use when hooking them up?

Thanks

These trannys can handle huge signals.  I used to burn them in using the HI setting.  For current mode burn, I would short the outputs.  That puts the ESR of the secondary as the load.  Forces the core into action with a lot of flux.  You might prefer a compromise, use a 1k load instead.

Thanks Jim!

Does this mean that i can run them into one side of the frykleaner and then out to the other set of inputs on the frykleaner? Sorry for my lack of technical knowledge.

Does this mean connect the J2 & J3 outputs of the Frykleaner to the inputs of the MU only? Nothing is plugged into J4 & J5 on the Frykleaner and the outputs of the MU are not connected to anything either? Just want to clarify this. thanks!
