Has anyone tweaked a wall-wart for better performance?

I'm posting this here 'cuz my only experience with this is the wall-wart for a Pro-Ject Speedbox, the speed controller for my TT.

years ago i did one of Mapleshade's free tweaks and pulled apart the 2 tiny wires on the wall-wart.  even when my TT was stock (& my system was really basic) the effect this made was audible & quite cool.

This next tweak is one i came up a while back, but am finally confident to post about it...the effects are so obvious.      One caveat:  my power strip has tiny brass cones on the base, which may make this tweak a bit more effective.   ALL power strips, conditioners, etc should be on spikes IMO.

IF you have a wall-wart that is laying horizontal when plugged in, you might notice how often it slides toward the heavy side exposing a part of the chines.  Every week or so i'm putting it back in place...
Cut a 1" square piece of spongy shelf paper (or some other thin rubbery isolation substance) and lay it inbetw the wall-wart and the power strip....this'll keep it seated right in the outlet.

Next, buy a small pointed Heavyhat weight from Mapleshade and place it on top of the wall-wart.  Only the pointed weights work for this tweak.   In my system, somehow this expands the soundstage a bit, but moreover it increases the size of each musician...or at least the size & force of the sound each produces.

YMMV, but if your turntable's speed controller is powered by a wall-wart, you might give these simple tweaks a shot.  At the very least pull them tiny wires apart and try to keep them separated from one another.   stabilizing the wall-wart with spongy material doesn't result in better sound, but it may keep some of the vibes these things produce from entering the power strip.    With the weight on top, the spongy material is necessary to keep the wall-wart seated properly.
