FS: 6DJ8 / ECC88 Nice Logos - Date Matched
« on: 12 Mar 2007, 01:00 am »
Test Results: 116/115 114/118 115/115 115/114 EXCELLENT!!!
62 = Min 95 = 100%
All 4 of these tubes test WAY OVER NEW!!!

I bought these to use in the Dodd battery pre I ordered back in December.  The wood for the Dodd is still not available - I gave up waiting.  I did a bit of research and these are supposed to be very nice sounding tubes that haven't been discovered sonically yet ;)

So I have these unused tubes for $18 each.  Shipping will be $4.00 each USPS Priority insured.  Paypal prefered.

Thanks
Tony

I believe the date codes are 7709?  I was relying on the info from the person I bought them from  :|

I looked at them with a magnifying glass and don't see any seams?  I'm looking at the top of the tube.

Even though the tubes say "made in the USA," RCA actually never manufactured 6dj8 but instead OEM'd them from other manufacturers like Amperex, Siemens, and other American companies. Therefore, I suspect you may be selling some Euro audio gold if there are any acid etched codes toward the bottom. I'm not talking about the "7709," but a series of shadowy grey numbers, letters and/or symbols which are etched into the glass permanently. They will determine who actually made them.  For a key to decipher, go here http://www.audiotubes.com/mullcode.htm

If these are indeed NOS Euro 6dj8's, $18 is a really good price IMHO.

Hmm, interesting :scratch:

Since they don't have the ridged top and no acid etched codes, RCA must have sourced these from an American manufacturer. Which one? I don't know. Anyway, good luck with the sale!
