Audio Video Equipment Stands
« on: 11 Mar 2007, 08:51 pm »
I am in search of a quality stand to hold my AV Equipment with a center channel speaker to sit on the shelf just under the plasma TV.  Total height of the top shelf cannot exceed 25" but can go to 65" width.  My mono block amps weigh in at approximately 70 lbs each so I need something substantial but has to look like furniture for wife acceptance.  Could you recommend something?

Thanks,

Ken

Ken,

What is your budget?

What are the dimensions of your center channel?

Can you better describe what you mean by "look like furniture"?

Depending on your budget, you might want to have something custom made.

Getting an off the shelf rack that meets alll your requirements is going to be difficult.

I have the Salamander Synergy Triple 20. Very good looking and also customizable. I have the plain rack black/black. The best photos I could find for you shows one with the optional perforated metal doors and side panels. You can also get drawers for them. Mine easily holds my two big power amps and all the other gear. Here's a couple of links showing two of the different color options:

The Salamander stuff is nice (I own a fully loaded Twin 30), but can't hold large center channels.

If the center channel fits, I agree the Salamander stuff could fit the bill.

The Salamandar SVDO....
There you go. If the center channel speaker is too big for the Triple 20 then you could get an SVDO and a Single 20, (or two), to hold the extra gear. Here's a link to the SVDO:
