Anyone a fan?

Are any of his CDs recorded well? I would like to find a good copy of "The Future".

I have no idea about his music, but have noticed that he's done a lot of stuff with Jennifer Warnes.

His recent CDs (including and since "The Future") are well-recorded.  "Ten New Songs" is one of my reference discs for sound quality.

The "Future" is very well recorded and reference quality.  However, his albums since then are even better recorded, not to mention the stupendous music!  Buy them all  :thumb:

     Watson,
Good choice, I use the vinyl edition as one of my references. Check out his greatest hits CD or LP. The live tracks 9,10,11 are standouts

First we take Manhattan...

I really like Cohen,  I don't own a lot of his stuff, but his an excellent song writer.  I love "Hallelujah" performed by Jeff Buckley.  I think that was back in 97.  Wow! that's already ten years ago!!!  :o

I am a fan of Jennifer Warnes Famous Blue Raincoat, and as Pez said, First we take Manhattan, the first song on that album. He sings with her on a couple of the tracks. He is a little dark for me in large doses though, don't have any of his solo stuff.

That CD/LP is arranged and recorded to high standards. Jennifer Warnes has an amazing voice also, so, it has been deemed "audiophile quality" all around.

I just rented Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man. I haven't watched it yet but I heard it was pretty good. It should be a good introduction to his music.

Leonard Cohen's "Songs of Love and Hate" is actually one of my VERY favorites, of Cohen or anyone really.  Completely different and wondeful from his other albums.

Yeah Leonard Cohen is my favorite.

I have all of his albums.

Not for the sound quality but for the material.

Take this Waltz on the album I'm Your Man is incredible.

Anthem on the album The Future is one of my favorites also.

Recently released was a 1979 live album entitled Field Commander Cohen which is awesome.

I am guessing there must have been some sound issues which kept it from being released until it could be cleaned up digitally (just a guess).

I love Leonard Cohen; really some of the best and most moving lyrics ever.

The recent stuff is good but in my opinion the earlier albums are where most of his really outstanding work is.  Songs From a Room is probably my favorite, although Songs, Field Commander Cohen, and Songs of Love and Hate are all classics.

It's a shame that documentary on him last year was such a piece of crap.  The man deserves better.
