I have been searching the web for months in hopes of discovering how to best improve my AV System to make music more enjoyable.  One thing I have learned is that owners are extremely biased about the equipment they currently own and I say currently own because they seem to be constantly buying something new.  Somehow, I happend to discover a review about Odyssey Audio Equipment and the review made me search for more information about their products.  While the reviews rave about Odyssey equipment it was the comments about how Klaus has personally assisted people and his attention to ensure satisfied customers that really got me interested. 

Last night I sent an e-mail to the Odyssey Web Site with the details of my AV System and was seeking advice of how to approach upgrading it piece by piece to improve sound quality.  It was approximately 11:00 PM when I hit the send button and within a few minutes I received a reply from Klaus advising he was working late and asked if I was still up?  I sent a response that yes I and a couple of minutes later he called me. 

Prior to continuing about my discussion last night with Klaus I would like to say that I understand
Audiophiles are not born with tremendous knowledge and appreciation of sound quality.  Audophiles have spent a tremendous amount of time and money in pursuit of what they percieve as the meca system of sound.  Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, the high-end audio stores do not make neophytes like me feel very comfortable when we visit in pursuit of improving our mass-market systems.  I am a salesperson so I deal with people every day and while that does not make me an "expert" it does provide me with experience in how treat people in obtaining their confidence.

When Klaus called me last night I was expecting another one of those high-end audio store sales people.  Boy, was I ever pleasantly surprised!  Klaus reviewed the details of my system that I had included in my e-mail and told me the "upgrading piece strategy" I wanted to pursue was an acceptable approach.  He took his time to explain his business and his approach to ensuring customer satisfaction.  I could tell by his questions he was trying to learn what I am seeking from my system and I believe he was also making a decision about me as a potential customer.  The bottom-line is that Klaus spent more than an hour on the phone with me and I committed to purchase Two Stratos Mono Extremes.  I made the decision to buy because Klaus took so much time to make me feel so comfortable with the recommendation and decision.  Also, he instilled in me a confidence I will be happy with the equipment and if something is wrong he is going to make it right.  Klaus told me the next step will be the Candela!   

I look forward to the opportunity to seek the advice of the members of this site.  I just had to take the time to write how positive I feel about my Odyssey Experience last night and can't wait for the boxes to arrive.

Welcome and beware!  Good audio is veerrrrryyy addicting.  It's a fun ride though and you have many kindred spirits here.  Odyssey stuff is extremely well regarded around these parts.  Nice choice!

I made the decision to buy because Klaus took so much time to make me feel so comfortable with the recommendation and decision.  Also, he instilled in me a confidence I will be happy with the equipment and if something is wrong he is going to make it right.

This is the very reason that I too use Odyssey equipment.  If there is ever a problem we will not have to worry about tying to find a repair person.  Klaus believes in his products so strongly that he basically gives a lifetime warranty.  He is a no B.S. guy and overbuilds everything, as you will see when you get your mono blocks.  And best of all, because he sells to us direct we are able to get alot of equipment for our $.  Enjoy your new amps, Bigfish.

Klaus understands repeat business too. I have went to that "well" myself a number of times and the last trip got me to upgrade my Stratos Stereo Plus to SE extreme monoblocks and my stereo unit is being upgraded to be a three channel. I am sure you'll be happy and probably a bit more than surprised at the quality of what you just purchase.

At this point it almost goes without saying if you've been reading reviews that these amplifiers take breaking in. Once they are you will truly be shocked at how much value Klaus brings to the table.

You made a great purchase with the mono extremes.  I've had mine for four years now, I think, and in that period they are the only piece of equipment I haven't considered upgrading or changing.  It'd probably take $10,000 to find better amplification, if there is such a thing.  Krell, Boulder, Levinson, Classe??
