Looking for a compact tube intagrated amp and a matching cd player, to go with some lifestyle speakers. It has to sound good too.

Can anyone recommend companies that build such product.

Would appreciate any info or links .

thanks

Check out Unison Research. Not sure what your budget is but these could be found second hand for about a grand each give or take depending on the condition.

They make a few different hybrid integrated amps. Here's a link:

http://www.unisonresearch.com/unico/unico.asp

They also make a matching CDP. There's a link further down on the left side of the side. It's called the Unico CD.

They also make regular tube amps, but they don't seem to get quite the press that the Unico line does. Not sure why

AV123, right here on AudioCircle, would seem to have your needs covered at minimal cost and maximal sonics

If you are thinking of going this route, I have a new (only slightly over a month old) Onix CD-3 in immaculate condition that I'm going to be selling for a decent price.

Great player, just need DVD playback capability and don't have room to keep both.

PM if interested.

BTW, the Onix line of power and integrated amps are sold out and discontinued, but will be replaced by the X-Empower series in the near future.

Here's a very looksome product.  Oh and it also includes tuner, iPod cradle, and remote too:

http://www.shanling.com/English/MC-30.htm

From the CES 2007 coverage it cost $1000 USD and includes speakers, but outputs only 3.5 wpc.

I wouldn't call them dead yet - MLS mentioned on the AV123 forum that he has another 230 SP3's in China.  He hasn't yet said anything about discontinuing any of the models (although it wouldn't surprise me).

I'm just reporting what it said on the detail page for the higher power SS integrateds, and although the SP3 is, I suppose an integrated, it's pretty limited in the number of inputs, controls and such, so I didn't figure this person was looking for something like this.

If I had the room and the need, I certainly would consider getting an SP3, but I'm kind of maxxed out on gear now except for a decent tube pre.

Since the OP asked about a tube integrated, I assumed you were referring to the SP3.  It does look like the A-60/A-120 are gone (I own an A-120 MkI - it's a good, simple dual mono integrated).
