time delayed power distribution to preamp and main amp

I have just completed construction on a vacuum tube preamp (Aikido) and have it driving an AKSA 55N.  In the preamp, I use a time-delay of 30 seconds to warm the heaters prior to switching on the HT supply.  I then manually switch on the AKSA power amp.

On turn-off, I switch-off the AKSA power amp, then wait a few seconds before switching of the preamp.  I really do not want to risk anything nasty if I get the order of switch-off incorrect.

So, I was thinking of building a power distributor.  It would consist of two IEC outlets, one to the preamp, the other to the power amp.  On switch-on, the device would power-up the preamp.  Then after 1 minute, it would power-up the AKSA power amp.  On switch-off, the device would power down the AKSA, then after, say 30 seconds switch off the preamp.

My voltage is 115VAC  (actually more like 123VAC from my house outlets).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Charlie

There are a few ways to skin this cat.  I looked into something similar a while back, so from memory I vaguely know what you might do.  However, you might have to do some reading and piece together a few things and fill in the missing pieces.  Or you could take a look at selectronics.fr, I saw an ad they had in audioxpress for a kit with delays and such that would be what you want.

Rod Elliot has some of the pieces I was talking about on ESP.  He has a remote sense turn on circuit (PCBs too I believe) and you could add a timer delay to the amp's relay.  I believe both amp and preamp can turn off at the same time at shut down.

I have a monster power supply, something like this:

Although I think I have a different model.  I use a 12V trigger from my preamp to the Monster, which then delays (for 3 seconds I believe) turn on of an outlet, which I use for my tube-based center channel amplifier and a sub amp.

Here are the links to the Selectronic.fr kit.

Otherwise pick up a used Monster HTS3500 or equiv, Furman sequencer, or other such power strip with delay.
