Hey!
First, yes I know that I could add an attenuator with two resistors before the volume itself.

And I have been living with that solution for a few years now using the best Caddocks resistors in the signal path and the MK132 (?) to the ground.
Since my new DAC seem to have lower output I decided to remove those resistors and the improvement in transparency is just amazing!

And the resistor that I've used in there was a great resistor.
But still the step is still a bit too coarse, not bad but still and to make it worst my new phono cart seem to output more than my previous one. So, now the volume is also too coarse with vinyl play back too.
Anyway, guys is that any other way to decrease the gain of the the system at the pre-amp or at the amp input without adding a resistor directly in the signal path?

Or I have no choice but to put back those resistors in before the volume again?

Take care,
Buddy
