Hey Everyone:

I turned on my SB3 to play some albums and I was getting no sound at all. :o  I am able to browse music, but when I press play, there is no sound and the volume graphics indicates silence. It seems to cache but it just won't start playing. The progress bar remains at zero. I checked my network, router, looked in all my settings on the Slimserver software and everything looked fine.  I finally went to the forums over at Slim Devices and found this fix. 

"Try holding down the '1' button on the remote right after you plug power into the Squeezebox. It should respond with "programming xilinx" which should take about thirty seconds and then automatically reboot."

Everything started working as it should. 8)

I had this happen just last night, and thankfully had read this thread.

Thanks for the cure.

Now, why did this happen suddenly, any ideas?

I really don't have a clue.  I know that I was fiddling in Slimserver, trying to enter in a URL for a particular radio station.  I wasn't able to get the slimserver to connect to the site.  All I know is that after I did that...no sound.  Go figure. :scratch:
