CDP Displays
« on: 28 Feb 2007, 03:06 am »
I turned off the display on my Maranz SA-11 for the first time tonight.

I'll be damned if it didn't sound immediately better.

This is surprising to me.  I've read of it but never quite bought it (guess I could say the same about power conditioning not too long ago).

Why can these manufacturers make an LED display non-noisy enough that it just DOESN'T affect the sound?  Rhetorical question, as apparently it's not easy.

Fixed (thanks to 'jqp' for alerting me to your plea )

btw - My old Digital hybrid JVC receiver had on-off LED displays, too...and it always sounded better off than on, too  :thumb:
