If you don't get the VA, then check out the ones from Mapletree. I have not heard VA's all-tube, but did hear the Ultra (hybrid; supposedly his best effort) and I prefer my Mapletree 2A SE (all tube, fer sure, and way less expensive, and also trial period of 30 days?). Nothing against VA, I have his Fet-Valve Ultra 550 and love it, but preferred the Mapletree pre. Diff' strokes.

Did you hear the current version of the Ultra preamp?  The one in the 17 inch wide chassis?

Did you hear the current version of the Transcendence 8 all tube preamp, again in the 17" wide chassis?

If not, you have not heard anything yet.

Frank, if your question was directed at me, I'd have to say ... doh!  I don't remember. Sorry. And no, I have not yet heard the T8. But if anyone in Atlanta has one and is willing to give me an audition, please lemme know.
