My First Vintage amp: Akai Am-2600
« on: 17 Feb 2007, 02:10 pm »
Hi,

Today I picked up a Akai am-2600 for 35 bucks,   they told me it was tested and I get a weeks guarantee!

It looks very cool and quite new,  The insides aren't dusty at all.  Is it safe to hook this amp to my 500 dollar Speakers?   ( My headphones sound amazing on this amp )

It even has a phono amp! ( and the VU meters work , with light and all!!!!)

it is black ,  I'll post some pictures later.

Would it be a huge risk to use it with my speakers?

I remember those! nice looking kit. Why should it do harm? hook it up to those Sony's you had to make sure. Don't expect miracles. Trends still rules.

Yeah it's just for fun:)   I've never owned sony speakers in my life,     could just connect the SI's

The Blaudio's  , chinese speakers/   I want to sell them but are they worth more than the SI's  so I'll think about it ...

I could pick up some old speakers at the same shop.
