The unit cost me $350 including shipping and import fees.
I agree that auditioners should have first crack at purchasing it.
Psychicanimal, of course I'd like to keep it, but that wouldn't be fair since we agreed on splitting the cost amongst us.
I was trying to come up with a formula that would be porportionately fair to everyone, but I found out that I'm not that smart.
Would this be fair? We had 13 auditioners including myself. I don't believe my cost should be any more than the $20+ that everyone else kicked in.
I have approximately $19+ from each auditioner in my paypal account, for
a total of about $228. Since it cost $350, my exposure stands at about $100 if we subtract my audition fee from this. Whatever we sell the Dezorel for, the first $100 would cover my remaining exposure, and the balance would be divided by 13 to determine how much comes back to each auditioner. If we sell it for $350, $250 gets divided by 13 giving each person about $19, making the audition cost almost free.

That figure would change if we sell it for more or less.
Does this make sense?
If this cost is in the ballpark, it should serve as a model for exploring future group purchases and auditions. What should we try next?
