Has anyone experience with Air Motion Transformer? How do they compare with ribbons?
Some are very expensive.

They are very different but I personally like them.  It's kind of an acquired taste.  It's very 'airy' if you can believe that

Seriously, they're extremely fast and delicate and relatively extended.  Some of them even have reasonably low enough low cutoffs to work in a 2 way system without a ton of xover goofiness.

I think they're really cool.  The ones I've heard were very fast & detailed yet natural sounding, they don't scream out "I'm an awesome tweeter, look at me!!", they disappear and leave you with good sound.  I like it more than the circular ribbon tweeter in the Acoustic Zen Adagio which sounds a little too tight & crisp, and I think it's about equal to the ribbon tweeters in the Apogee Centaur.  I like them.  I've only heard the small & medium-small Heil tweeters so far so I have no idea how the big ones sound.
