Danny,

i email you via your website requesting info on the transportation cost of 2 or 4 units of M130 to be shipped to Australia, via normal airmail(not express). So far no response.
I would appreciate a response from you, email me at tean _tan@hotmail.com. Thanks.

Sorry for the late response. I was gone on vacation with my family for the last 6 days. I did get your e-mail and responded to it also.

Shipping cost on one pair is $32.95 with insurance.

Shipping cost on two pairs is $54.95 with insurance.

Both of those are via air parcel post through the postal service and will take about 7 business days.

The e-mail that you gave me originally that was tean-tan@hotmail.com did not go through. It kept bouncing back as undeliverable.

The credit(payment) details have been emailed. You should get them by now.

With all the commotions don't forget to send my drivers.

Thanks...

Thanks Danny,

Speakers arrived today....I am burning them in at the moment...Well packed, good service.

What x-over frequency should I use between M130 and M165X?
I am using electronic x-over at the moment..

In a three way design I would cross them below 200Hz. Anywhere below that will be fine.

Anywhere in the 2kHz to 3kHz range is good.

Thanks for your response...

Initial testing gave me the impression that the M130 is much better than the M160. The midrange of M130 is very sweet as well very good dynamics. The M160 seems to lack the bass response, this could be due to my design. For the price I paid both drivers are a bargain.

To get the best out of the M160(using a single unit) the ideal size of the enclosure is about 47lit, tune to 40Hz. Is this right? If you have other suggestions please advise.

Also if I double the M160 and double the size of enclosure, according to theory I don't get better bass response. If connect them parrallel I get better effciency and a perception of larger bass, are there any other advantages in term getting better sound reproduction. BTW I am not a bass person, I put more emphasis on the midrange and a smooth top end.

My ideal design is TMWW, where M is M130 and W is M160, and T- seas tweeter. If you think MTMWW is better please explain.

I would appreciate your comments..

The M-165X that you purchased will play fairly low in the right enclosure and tuning.

I show 40 liters to be optimal ported and tuned to the 37 to 40Hz range.

If by better you mean more low end extension then you are correct. The low end extension will remain the same.

Yes connecting them in parallel will give you more output and sharing the load on two drivers instead of one will give you lower distortion.

That will be ideal.
