Fully modified Tact RCS 2.0S

The Tact RCS 2.0S is a great performer on its own. The room correction is fantastic, the digital capabilities are phenomenal. However, I knew there could be more. So, I worked with Anthony at Aberdeen/Maui Mods to get the latest modifications available and make this preamp sound truly special.  I have never heard detail extraction or image precision like this preamp. One thing led to another and I got every modification available from Aberdeen/Mauimods. The stock DAC on this preamp isn’t bad but now the modified version, the conversion to analog is insanely good. You are getting 3 great things in one with this device: Room correction, Preamp w/ remote and DAC, all fully modified.

The only reason I’m selling is because I’m going to experiment with other DAC’s connected directly to a PC via USB and I also want an all analog path for vinyl. I considered myself truly ‘finished’ with this TacT in my system and the changes I’m making are lateral to add functionality.

The TacT has been in my system for over a year, a record for me. The latest modifications to the motherboard were made about 4 months ago and it has been a true joy to hear ever since. Every modification made was a step forward in realism and accuracy. It now has a liquid sound with the convenience of digital. All modifications were performed by Anthony Aberdeen at Mauimods. (http://www.mauimods.com)

I replaced the microphone with a much better unit costing several time the stock unit, which I will include at my asking price. (Cost me ~$150) The new mic measures the room more accurately than the stock one and therefore can correct it better.

Specific Modifications performed by Anthony at Aberdeen/Maui Mods:

--Motherboard mod for 2.0X or 2.OS:
Modification of the 3.3v regulator. replacement of all capacitors (7 +3) with Black Gate or Sanyo Oscons, 500 material on all power traces, Clock upgrade , using low voltage, high accuracy, high stability, ultra low jitter clock. Chassis Dampening, 500 material lined chassis. $900

--Replacement of Op amps and all capacitors with Sanyo Oscons $450

--Analog output board mod: Replacement of Op amps and all capacitors with Sanyo Oscons $375

--Digital Output Board mod: Replacement of all pulse transformers Using only the best, Scientific Conversions SC947-02, SUPER SHIELDED $90

--Aberdeen Signature complete drop in power supply: $600

--Aberdeen Ultra High Performance IDE cables and Power Cables: $200

You can start with the final product if you buy this preamp, with no wait for the upgrades. There is nothing left to modify or upgrade. I have not heard the PRAT, resolution, transparency or razor sharp imaging out of anything else.

I'm Carlman on Agon if you'd like to check my feedback... I'm asking 3100 for what cost about $5,000.  Let me know if you have any questions.  I'll try to update with some photos soon.

Thanks,
Carl

Update: Price is 3,000 including shipping in the continental US and Paypal fees.

Somebody should get in on this.  I have a TacT unit that does things no other solution can provide.  Period.  It sounds great, and Carl has taken his to a much higher place than my stock unit.

Carl, does it have an analog input board?   Wondering if you ran a phono preamp thru it..

Sorry, no ADC input, just the DAC output card.
I never tried it with vinyl....
