This is easily remedied by using something like this short extension adapter. I own some that are single extensions rather than dual extensions.

The 1000mA North American chargers are the ones that Paul described in the review (big wall-wort). The 2000mA fast charger and the foreign chargers are more like your typical lap-top charger (with a power cord connecting to the charger, and a cord from the charger connecting to the amp).
