To take this thread completely off-topic from the get-go, Eric, I like your tagline as I'm both a huge Rush fan and a pilot.  You?

Knowing Romy as I do, I guarantee you that horn system would knock your socks off, and I'm not a horn fan.
Romy is very non-conventional, that's one of the things I like best about him.

Best,

Paul  :green:

Paul-Yes am a huge Rush fan and no am not a pilot. My dad was a mechanic in the Air National Guard for 23 years and worked as a jet engine mechanic at NWA for 20 years and I inherited my love of airplanes/flying from him. I fly 40-50,000 miles a year for my job and still enjoy every airport/flight/trip very much.
Beemer-I'd love to hear Romy's set up as he is an interesting cat in the audio world.

50K miles/year.  Holy cow.

Me, I avoid airline travel like the plague.  :)

I'd never known Lifeson flew before seeing your tagline.  I hear they're in the studio again!

Here's a great article by Neil about their most recent time in the studio

On his site he goes into detail about his system....and I happened to pick up on this line...

"I generally do not bring Audio people in my home. I consider most of audiophiles are Zombie-idiots and I feel incredibly bored when they’re sitting in my room, when I’m spinning for them Josef Hofman playing Rachmaniniff or Furtwangler playing Brahms and those Morons keep asking me: “Ok, … and where is the famous Romy’s Sound?” I usually have very high ability to identify the audio-idiots: my estimate is approximately 97% of all audiophiles out there, and I do not allow them in my listening room."

One could argue that anybody who doesn't know that "Moron" isn't a proper noun and shouldn't capitalized is a bit of a moron.

...  does anyone else catch the irony in this?

No offense Paul, but we're all capable of erring from time to time .

I read it as more of an emphasis on the word moron - perhaps all caps would have been better

Nice looking setup - but I have to agree with Marbles ...

I'm missing the irony - what is it?  I capitalized the word the first time as I was quoting him verbatim.

I know it was a cheap shot, but this guy is apparently quite an arrogant ass!  :)

Paul....Romy was a long time poster here....you can check his past posts....

Irony, from the Greek εἴρων (dissimulator), is a literary or rhetorical device in which there is a gap or incongruity between what a speaker or a writer says, and what is generally understood (either at the time, or in the later context of history).

I briefly skimmed through Romy's site and my impression is that it's like a cynical hate-filled mirror of Dr. Gizmo's site.  I can sorta understand where he's coming from and can relate to some of the points he's making, but let's face it, the presentation fails.  Rarely have I seen so much condescending hate & bitterness in one place, combined with an overblown opinion of one's self.
