Hello all,
Why wouldnt a fine strand, big gauge cable be acceptable for running power through? The stuff I tried is ofc with pe jacket, it is dividable into discrete runs just like anyother hookup cable..?? I then braided it into four conductor 12 ga. power cable. Is this bad?

Speaker cable is an excellent candidate for power cable, assuming that the insulation is rated for the voltage, which is usually the case.  However bigger gauge is not always better.  It is actually better to have several smaller gauges with + and - twisted together.  This lowers the inductance over a simple large gauge pair.

I use Groneberg Quattro Reference for ALL pourposes and it works real fine, awesome in some respects, incredible patented cable which can be used for power, IC, coax or speaker.

A good thing with "conventional" speaker wire is to find some guides about how to roll(?) it every number of inches to minimize skin effects and other problems.
