Have you tried the foam on your pair? Maybe put foam on the top to make them look like they're wearing hats?
And how 'bout that CD of yours?
Actually I have been working on cryogenically treating the grill cloth, to reduce molecular impedance to the important 200Hz to 210Hz frequencies, but with little luck.
I also have found that Large, Large Mouth Bass (the fish) make a wonderful beard. Stapling them to the bottom of the speaker below the woofer,(Large Mouth up) so that the scales are all facing away from the woofer, dramatically improves bass response (or is that bass response)
They have a high CAF ("cat accepetance factor") but super low WAF.

Kidding aside:
The "foam lapels" I dressed my RM40s in don't have as great as effect on the 626Rs as the RM40s since the baffle is already smaller.
The hood "does" work if you have 8-9 foot ceilings.
I think what you need are some "well dressed" (Lapels and hood) RM40s
