I must agree as well.  I purchased the album from Amazon for $9.99.  The work is definitely not her best.  Not that it is bad, but it does not sound as good as her past two albumns.

Well...that certainly shoots the praise I read in a review that said this is her best work to date...fracking reviews.

Guys, are you not being too tough on lil' miss jones?

I mean, come on, re-invent herself?  She's been around a total of five years, maybe...she's got three albums, and a couple of others that with collaborations into country/folk.  Before her, there was nothing like Come Away with Me, that album was a revelation to say the least, winning her everything thing in her debut year!  Here, Not Too Late, I think she's taking chances in writing and arranging her own songs, tell me how many actually do that these days...and she's criticising the "B--H" administration as well!

There are new, more edge feel to her songs then the first one, like track #2.  You have to give credit for taking chances and doing what she wants.  How long did it take U2 to change their was, what in the late 90s before they really went a different way?  Miles didn't change til the late 60s and 70s, and I don't care for that much...

Anyways, I think this is a good album, I enjoyed the very first time I put it in the CD player...

Well, my 1 cent!!!

I like it. It's not as good as Come Away with Me but not bad.

Am I the only one that is not hugely impressed by Norah Jones in general?

Granted, the girl is sexy, and her voice has a "come hither" quality... but I get the feeling that without a very large microphone and a whole lot of gain dialed in, she'd be inaudible in front of even a small jazz group.

Just my opinion... and I do like listening to her album, albeit in small doses.

im going to listen to it again in a few minutes - i listened to it last night and also was not impressed - every song sounds exactly the same - if there was no space between tracks id swear it was one song on the whole cd - it's great when you first hear her - like the 1st album and the 2nd - but this 3rd is deja vu all over again -

I like her ok, listened to Feels Like Home today (on Creepin' In she sounds a lot like...Dolly Parton). But not a star at all imo, more like a good coffee house/open mike talent, for the early hours.

I guess none of you liked The Little Willies either?
NJ has a nice voice, at the very least it's good sonic wallpaper.

If you like her other 2 CDs, you'll probably like her new one.  It is easy to listen to music (when you just want to relax) and well recordedd CD, she doesn't break any new ground.

Agreed. I have "Feels like home". It's a great come home from a long day chill out CD.

Cheers

I like her music, Little Willies and all... I never saw her as a "ground breaking artist" though... same with Diana Krall, good artist but hardly "ground breaking".

I liked her first one a lot, but the 2nd one was a dud to me.  Her best stuff if probably her stuff with Peter Malick, IMO.  Haven't heard the new one but I'll probably check it out eventually.
