Paul Candy of 6 Moons on Sig 70s
« on: 2 Feb 2007, 11:36 am »
"In fact, the only solid-state I currently prefer over the Euphya are Audio Zone's AMP-2/PRE T-1 combo and Vinnie Rossi's Red Wine Audio Signature 70s."

Did anyone catch this quote from 6 Moons reviewer Paul Candy, whose review of the Sig 70s is complete -- according to Vinnie -- but yet to be published.  This is from Paul's December review of the $3,200 Euphya Alliance 270 integrated amp.  Here's the link:

http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/euphya/270.html

Nice preview of a positive review, I would say.

I have guests from France and Holland over the next few days so even if Paul sent over his review copy and pix now, it won't be until middle of next week until I can get his review published. That said, after he had the 70s for a week or so, he e-mailed me and casually quipped, "these really are the shit, aren't they?" To which I smugly replied, "I told you so." Of course not having heard the Sig 70s, I merely interpolated from my experience with the Sig 30 and acted omniscient as reviewers are supposed to. Anyhow, it's pretty safe to think that Paul will have some pretty complimentary things to say. What, exactly, I have no idea. If Vinnie already has seen a fact-check copy, he knows more than I do. I only get the stuff after the writer had the manufacturer sign off on the facts

Or, as a former boss told me numerous times: "Don't ask me. I just work here."

Btw, I'm just about to take receipt of the Firenze Audio Rosso 460B. That's a brand-new Italian T-amp, 4-channel, bridgeable for double the power, with integral active crossover for active biamping or sat/subbing. No idea on price yet or how good it'll be but this SLA-battery Tripath amp play pen just got a bit more crowded  :D

Interesting looking products, both from a physical standpoint, and the idea of an RS232 port for manipulation of the onboard Xover seems like a very interesting proposition.

SLA battery option too, how interesting!

All,

I do not know if Paul Candy's review is actually complete (probably not yet, but he is getting there).... the last time we connected (over email) he mentioned that he was half finished.  I don't believe I said it was complete yet, but it is coming soon enough

I did not see any part of this review yet, so I am also very much in suspense too!  :hyper:

Best regards,

Vinnie

I wonder what the pricing  / distribution model is.

All,

Maybe a new thread on that product can be posted on an AC forum outside of the RWA forum?

I am not trying to be rude here and please do not take this post the wrong way... I just believe that since this is a different product (different company), it shouldn't be discussed in this Signature 70 thread here in the RWA forum.

Thank you for understanding,

Vinnie

My bad below -- Vinne did NOT say the review was complete.  I misread his comment.  He said it was close to being completed.  Sorry.

Vinnie,
You make a very valid point.

my apologies.

All,

I'm getting a little backlogged on the Sig 70s (as well as the Sig 30).  My current lead-time for these is approx 4 weeks.

The good news is that I am getting help starting next week (a part-time tech), so I anticipate things will speed up soon enough!

Thanks for all your orders, support, and patience!
