Blue Man Group is coming
« on: 25 Jan 2007, 04:19 am »
I think this is an event I will make it a point to attend. Not only do I truly enjoy their music but I think the overall performance will be a sight to see.

Should be an interesting show :thumb:

I waited like 5-6 years to see them...didn't plan in advance and got shut out in NYC and Vegas when I tried.

Last year I got last minute seats, FRONT ROW, for them in Chicago.  There really is a reason why the front rows are still available in an otherwise sold out show the same evening....be forewarned  :deadhorse:

That aside - it's fantastic show  :thumb:

Not quite sure yet. I just caught the tail end of the commercial and missed the exact date and location. I thought it was the Broome County (Binghamton) Arena.

WolfyChris...did that show too (can't remember where now).  Sooooo long ago...is that guy still playing out there? Is he alive?

I wasn't front row 'cause I had caught his act already on The Mike Douglas Show (remember him old man? ) or akin before I bought tix.

The stage show is lots of fun. We saw them up in Chicago too but the Complex II (How to be a Megastar) Tour is a completely different show that is much more music based with load of visuals. You can pick up the DVD of the BMG Complex tour at your favorite movie outlet. You'll get a feel for what you are in store for.

I just checked their website and it looks like they are coming back to our area again (they were here last October). I might just grab some tickets and go see them up at Mizzou  :thumb:

Caught them in Vegas last year.  Go see them and I have to reinforce the avoidance of the front row.....things tend to splash 8)

I just caught the commercial again, They are coming to the Broom County Arena on March 20th :thumb:

The Arena is about 7 miles down the road from me. I better get my tickets now. Hope the wife and older children will want to go. Should be a hoot!

I saw the Complex Rock Tour v1 and v2. Absolutely a BLAST! Really, one of the best rock shows I've ever seen. BTW, for those who have seen the stage show in Vegas, Chicago or eleswhere, I've been told it is quite different from the traveling Complex Rock Tour shows. The traveling show is truely a rock concert and a parody of all the rock concerts you've ever seen.

I hardily recommend ALL rock fans , young or old, go to this show. It's a BLAST. I'd go again tomorrow if it were here!  :D

And don't worry about sitting in the front rows unless you are alergic to confetti....

Enjoy,

TIC

TIC is right, saw the Rock Tour this Nov and it was completely different than the Vegas show :o

The Tour is much more of a rock concert :guitar: :drums: , like their dvd/cds they sell, while the Vegas show is more of a, well, Vegas show :jester:. More interaction in their own theater tailored for them.

Both are great, the Blue Man group show is where I tell all my freinds to go and see the best/highest energy Vegas show, period. :thumb:

Hey guys quick question. Since some of you have seen the traveling who, what would you say the youngest age would be for children to attend. My youngers ones may be interested. I have two 8 year olds and a 14 year old.

Bill,

The show is appropriate for all ages. For the young ones (and maybe yourself too) you may want to take along some cotton balls to use as earplugs because the music does get quite loud. When I saw them on the previous Complex tour, the sound was the best I've ever heard. Granted it was really loud but it was also clean and undistorted. I don't go to any show without earplugs anymore.

Oh, and the kids will absolutely love the show. The whole stage is aglow with a synchronized (computerized) light show. Even a number of the performers light up too. It's not just a rock concert. This show is as much fast paced visual art as it is anything.

I agree with Scott. It is an all ages show. All of your kids will dig it! They'll be telling their friends about it for weeks! It's really fun and they will get a kick out of it. Unfortunately it may ruin all future rock shows for them. Compared to the Blue Man Group's parody of "famous Rock Movements", real rock shows seem boring.

Enjoy,

TIC
