Emerald Physics LS-1 loudspeakers....
« on: 15 Jan 2007, 11:09 pm »
While reading The Show report on Positive Feedback, I spotted these.....

"Emerald Physics LS-1 loudspeakers with the Shakti Halograph. Look ma, no sides! Would be nice to hide the crossovers and such as opposed to just plopping them on the rug."

"The Emeralds Physics LS-1 loudspeakers have an interesting design. They showed a "proto-type" at RMAF with this being the actual production model. Very nice sounding though they only used a Mac for files... err... music ... meaning if one wanted to hear their own he had to burn the track."

Too bad I missed hearing them at RMAF.... :?

I gave them a quick listen.  Very clean with large soundstage and depth, large images.  I thought the designer looked familiar.  We knew each other from a stereo store he was working at in Oklahoma City in the 1970s, while he was still in college.  He helped me negotiate a trade with the store after they dropped my Tandberg reel to reel off the workbench and destroyed it.  Not his fault.  Seemed like a promising system.  Believe he was using Mac input to a commercial 6 channel amp.
