Need more burn in information
« on: 15 Jan 2007, 06:04 pm »
Saw a post similar to this from back in December, but there wasn't much input, so I'm trying again.

Have a new CDP.  Supposedly needs a good 200+ hours of playing before it really settles in. (Although it sounds good now.)

Does my integrated amp have to be on while the CDP is playing, or can it be off?  Has anyone done any real research on this?  I've heard opinions that say, yes keep everything on and have sound running thru speakers while burning in, and read others that say it's not necessary, that sound does NOT have to be coming thru the speakers.

Can I get a definitive response, or isn't there one?  Thanks everyone!

If the CDP is tube based, leave the int amp on, if it's SS, it's not necessary to have it on.
